SUMMARY
In October 610, emperor Phokas was overthrown and executed by Herakleios. His brother Komentiolos, who had camped with his troops in Ankara for the winter, rebelled against Herakleios at the end of October/beginning of November 610. The latter sent two clergymen to negotiate with the rebel but their mission was unsuccessful. The rebellion ended at the end of the winter of 611, when Komentiolos was assassinated. |
