ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ

During a significant period of the Ottoman era, the areas of the Dardanelles and Hellespont Mysia fell under the ecclesiastic auspices of the diocese of Cyzicus. This changed at the beginning of the 20th century, with the establishment of the Diocese of Lampsacus and the Dardanelles which had Lampsacus (Lapseki) as its See and included 23 Christian communities.
