ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ
After December 25, 820 Thomas, the so-called ‘Slav’, tourmarch of the Foederati, rebelled against Emperor Michael II Travlos in Asia Minor. After being proclaimed emperor and placing the largest part of Asia Minor under his control, Thomas sailed to Thrace leading a large army. For about a year he laid an unsuccessful siege to Constantinople. In mid-October 823 he was apprehended at Arcadiopolis of Thrace and was put to death. |
