August 1030: George Maniakes repels an attack against Telouch. Commander of the cities along the Euphrates border.
Late October 1031: George Maniakes captures Edessa of Mesopotamia.
1034-1035: George Maniakes is transferred to Vaspurakan.
1038-1039: George Maniakes campaigns in Sicily, where he repeatedly defeats the Arabs.
1040: George Maniakes defeats the Arabs at Dragines and captures Syracuse. He is falsely accused by his second in command and is imprisoned in Constantinople.
1042: George Maniakes is sent to S. Italy, where he defeats the Normans. He revolts because of conflicts with the imperial court.
Early 1043: The army of Maniakes lands on the Balkan Peninsula and marches against Constantinople.
Between April and June 1043: Death of George Maniakes during a battle against the imperial forces near Amphipolis of the Struma River.
Summer 1057: General Theophylaktos Maniakes remains loyal to Emperor Michael VI but his forces fail to defeat the rebel Isaac Komnenos in Asia Minor.
