The idea to extensively record historical data of Asia Minor, initially place names and persons, was conceived almost simultaneously with the creation of FHW by Lazaros and Ourania Efraimoglou. Already from 1995, a team has been created for the study and design of a relevant project. The idea went through various stages and various reference frameworks (data bank, documentation centre, knowledge database) before crystallizing, in 1998, to a project in the form and orientation of an encyclopaedia. During the various stages of methodological development and research of the project, the following people contributed significantly.
