chlamys, the

It was a rectangular woollen mantle typically bordered.It could be worn over another piece of clothing in order to offer additional protection when travelling or riding. It was fastened with a fibula in front or on one shoulder. It is usually worn by warriors or messengers.

xoan, the
Primitive cult statue, crude and abstract. It was usually wooden but there were also stone and ivory ones. It was considered sacred after some legend or due to the ornaments that were hanged on it. Xoans are attested even in the Roman period.
