SUMMARY
Ancient city of Commagene, in the area of Eski Kahta, where the hierothesion of king Mithridates I Callinicus stood. The ruins surviving today are largely connected with this sacred place, while the reliefs depicting receptions with members of the royal family of Commagene and various deities are of particular interest. The city was continuously inhabited until the middle ages.
